Limoncello recipe, lemon liquor
Ingredients
1 litre of Vodka
5 lemons
200g caster sugar
425ml boiling water
Recipe
Place lemons in a covered bowl of cold water in the fridge overnight.
Use a zester or small knife to remove the zest of the 5 lemons.
Place the zest and the vodka in a large glass jar and shake vigorously.
Leave for one month shaking the jar occasionally.
After one month boil 425ml of water and disolve sugar. Mix this in with the vodka zest in a jar.
Shake jar to fully distribute the syrup solution and then strain into two 75cl bottles.
Seal bottles and place in storage. Place in freezer before serving.
This should give a cloudy liquor similar to cloudy lemonade with a sweet lemon zest and a sharp kick of alcohol.
